About Melanotan II dosing
Melanotan II is a synthetic analog of alpha-MSH that stimulates melanin production. It is known for tanning effects, and it acts on the same melanocortin receptors as PT-141 — which is why libido effects and nausea are common at higher doses.
With 10 mg in 2 mL (5,000 mcg/mL), a 250 mcg dose is 0.05 mL — 5 units — and the vial holds 40 doses. Reconstituting in 3 mL makes small starter doses easier to measure.
Melanotan II is not FDA-approved and G1 does not prescribe it. PT-141, the melanocortin peptide G1 does carry, is discussed on its own calculator page.
What is a typical Melanotan II protocol?
Protocols commonly discussed start at 100–250 mcg daily for a few days to check tolerance, rise to around 500 mcg during a loading phase with UV exposure, then drop to a maintenance dose once or twice a week.
How do I reconstitute Melanotan II?
Add 1–3 mL of bacteriostatic water slowly down the vial wall and swirl until clear. With 2 mL in a 10 mg vial each unit on an insulin syringe is 50 mcg.
Is Melanotan II available at G1?
No. It is unapproved and carries meaningful side effects. G1 prescribes PT-141, a related melanocortin peptide, for a different purpose — book a free consultation to discuss.
