About PT-141 dosing

PT-141 is the peptide bremelanotide, FDA-approved as Vyleesi for hypoactive sexual desire disorder in premenopausal women and studied in men as well. It works centrally on melanocortin receptors rather than on blood flow, which distinguishes it from PDE5 drugs.

From a 10 mg vial in 2 mL (5 mg/mL), a 1.75 mg dose is 0.35 mL — 35 units — and the vial holds five doses. Nausea is dose-related, which is why providers often start at 0.5–1 mg.

G1 sells PT-141 as 10 and 20 mg vials and in the Ares X pen (with oxytocin). Your provider sets the dose; take it 45 minutes to an hour before it is needed.

What is the typical PT-141 dose?

The approved dose is 1.75 mg subcutaneously, at least 45 minutes before activity, no more than once per 24 hours and eight doses per month. Compounded protocols often start at 0.5–1 mg to limit nausea.

How should reconstituted PT-141 be stored?

Refrigerated and away from light, within the pharmacy's beyond-use window. Because it is used intermittently, a vial may last several weeks — check the date before each use.

How many units is 1.75 mg of PT-141?

35 units with 10 mg in 2 mL; 17.5 units with 20 mg in 2 mL; 70 units with 10 mg in 4 mL. Enter your own vial and water above for the exact figure.
