About Cagrilintide dosing
Cagrilintide mimics amylin, the hormone co-released with insulin after meals that slows gastric emptying and promotes satiety. On its own it produced meaningful weight reduction in trials; it is best known as the amylin half of CagriSema.
The numbers work like semaglutide: 5 mg in 2 mL is 2.5 mg per mL, so 0.25 mg is 10 units and the vial holds twenty starting doses. Escalation steps use proportionally more.
Cagrilintide is investigational and G1 does not currently prescribe it. If you are exploring options for weight management, a free consultation is the right first step.
How does cagrilintide differ from semaglutide?
Semaglutide targets the GLP-1 receptor; cagrilintide targets amylin receptors. They act on satiety through different pathways, which is why the two are combined in CagriSema for a larger effect than either alone.
What is the typical cagrilintide dose escalation?
Phase 2 studies started at 0.25 mg once weekly and stepped up roughly every four weeks through 0.5, 1.2, and 2.4 mg. Any real-world schedule would be set by a prescribing provider.
Is cagrilintide available at G1?
