About Tirzepatide dosing
Tirzepatide is a dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist — the "twincretin." It is taken once weekly and escalated in 2.5 mg steps so the digestive side effects stay tolerable while the dose climbs.
The milligram doses mean the math is friendlier than with microgram peptides: 10 mg in 2 mL is 5 mg per mL, so a 2.5 mg dose is 0.5 mL, or 50 units. At 15 mg a 10 mg vial is less than one dose, so higher steps usually mean larger vials.
Tirzepatide is a prescription medication; whether it is right for you, and how quickly to escalate, is a conversation with a licensed provider. Use this page to convert the dose you were prescribed into a syringe draw.
How do I reconstitute tirzepatide?
Add the water volume your pharmacy specifies, running it down the inside of the vial and swirling gently until clear. 2 mL in a 10 mg vial gives 5 mg/mL — a 2.5 mg dose is then exactly half a syringe.
What is the standard tirzepatide dosing schedule?
The labelled schedule begins at 2.5 mg weekly for four weeks, then 5 mg, and can continue in 2.5 mg steps to 15 mg, each held for at least four weeks. Your provider may move faster or slower depending on tolerance and response.
How should reconstituted tirzepatide be stored?
Refrigerated, protected from light, and used within the beyond-use date on the pharmacy label — commonly 28 days. Do not freeze it, and discard any vial that turns cloudy or discoloured.
